But on Server Version 3.1.1 is this Not possible. The Server says: Client is modified.

Since I am a Linux user, I can not adjust it.

I have tested it on Windows 10.

Yes it works too. But not with the Alpha. The Client says: Client is modified.

It still works with versions that have correct build numbers and strings in the conf (only 3.?.? works with incorrect ones).
Could also be that non official versions need a special server which accepts their connections.

Strangly enough 3.?.? works with a custom version_sign but nothing else.
