When I download the official server binaries of ts3 server for amd64 linux, replace the here-provided ts3server file in the folder and start with: "./ts3server_startscript.sh start", it throws the error:

Starting the TeamSpeak 3 server
TeamSpeak 3 server could not start

Nothing more, nothing less verbose. Happens, when trying to retrieve the file via wget and transferring it via SFTP, it does not matter. Any idea?

System is Debian 9.2 amd64.

Giving user permissions for file would help, and don't start it as root.

Running it as ts3 user, and assigning the startscript execute permissions, it still throws the errors mentioned above.

May I have to execute the official ts3server binary once, then replace it with the here-provided one?

First start server with old ts3server file then stop it and place new.
You need to give ts3server file permission not startscript.

the problem is still there. ts3server has already file permission, but it didn't start and shows the error.

It works yea. No hosts entries needed. Something from your side is broken how it looks like but personally i don't know what.
