Are badges like authenticated now ?
Because if not then what is even the point ?

Looking here I don't see anything of the sort.
Do you have more information about that ? Thanks

That does not answer my question.

Here what I knew back in 2017 or something
Badges are just uuids sent over client metadata.
At first you only needed to make a plugin and you could fake them.
Then they removed that way so you had to use custom plugins to achieve it.

If that is still the case then your badges aren't worth anything

It will not work anymore with faking these badges. They have a authentication check on the servers now. You only can enable them if you have them.

TeamSpeak is trying to buyback their fanbase, you can tell from glancing at https://www.teamspeak.com/en/sponsorship/

Their wording is inauthentic in the sense that they are sounding very salesy with wording like, "JOIN THE TEAMSPEAK ELITE."

I do not want a badge and the fact is they are giving too many out because TeamSpeak thinks their badge has value, some people obviously think the badge has value, and really the badge is some $0 generated pixel icon.

Their goal is for badges to be given to friends, friends of friends, and family.

Example:
Tom: "Charlie, want a TeamSpeak badge?"
Charlie: "What is TeamSpeak? Is that kind of like Discord or something..."

If TeamSpeak truly was proud of their users, they would not have pissed off so many people by killing the NPL. That should have been grandfathered (people keep NPL and they discontinue newer ones).

Lastly, there are open solutions without licensing costs:
https://github.com/mumble-voip/grumble (Mumble server in Go)
https://github.com/mumble-voip/mumblekit (iOS app newer, Objective-C-based Mumble client framework)
https://github.com/mumble-voip/mumble-iphoneos (iOS app example - old)
https://mumble-protocol.readthedocs.io/en/latest/ (docs on how Mumble works)

And of course, the entire client https://github.com/mumble-voip/mumble .. all the cpp files, free for all.

I was in similar situation. Half of a month ago younger brother played in csgo (10 years) and asked me about how him can communicate with his friend. I've said him that he can use TeamSpeak and he ask "team.. what ?"
That was very sad to hear that...

TeamSpeak losing all. Their sponsorship company isn't good. Like send our links and tell everyone that teamspeak cool in your facebook, twitter, twitch etc and we can give you server/license... We had same thing in CIS when useless pro "cybersport communities" asking to all hosters for partnership (give them server and they can advertise) because they are have VERY FUCKING BIG ACTIVITY AND THEY CAN ADVERTISE HOSTING (ahahah no, that isn't. 50$ to Adwords can give you more user traffic then this). By the way they are was closed after 2-3 weeks from started partnership
Due to such teamspeak actions I am gradually moving away from serious work with teamspeak. No coding oriented to our hosting and etc.

We can give you badges ? For what ? For icon ? wow, cool...

This type of badge giveaway is just wrong.
Hopeless TS team just wants to keep things alive by giving limited badges, so TS community who actually cares about TS3 software gets some hope by searching for extra hot limited super special fuckin badge.
And dragging TS5 release is the main reason.
